Kleine Golden Star (Little Gold Star) was a civil honor awarded during the Dutch East Indies period by the Governor-General to individuals who demonstrated exceptional loyalty (trouw) and merit (verdiensten) to the colonial government. It formed part of an official system of distinctions granted to influential figures—particularly from non-European communities—as recognition of their contributions to social stability, administrative support, and regional economic development.

In 1904, this honor was conferred upon Tjong A Fie, a prominent figure in Medan who served as Captain of the Chinese, and was widely known as a successful businessman and philanthropist. His role as an intermediary between the colonial authorities and the Chinese community, along with his contributions to social and economic development in the Deli region, made him an influential leader. The award of the Kleine Golden Star reflects official recognition of his loyalty, leadership, and service within the colonial society.
